Adam Sommers has been investing on behalf of clients since 1996. As the founder of Sommers Financial, Adam’s goal was — and remains today — to manage investments responsibly and with integrity, for the benefit of each client.
Education
Adam is currently pursuing a Master's of Science degree in Financial Analysis while studying the body of knowledge necessary to obtain the certification of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Prior to his studies at the College for Financial Planning, he graduated magna cum laude from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, with a bachelor’s degree in business and a focus on financial analysis and personal finance. Adam maintains that the most valuable learning tools — besides experience earned each year in this business — are the books on his shelves. He is an avid student of investment leaders including Warren Buffett, Ric Edelman, Ken Fisher, and Benjamin Graham.
Community
Adam was born and raised in South Columbia County, and is curently the Treasurer for the St. Helens Student Foundation, and a passionate booster and coach of St. Helens athletics. Adam’s wife, Teresa, teaches in the elementary schools for the St. Helens School District. They have one daughter, Alexa, and are expecting their second child in August of 2010. Together, they enjoy canoeing Oregon waters, hiking the Oregon hillsides, and taking care of their yellow Labrador retriever, Ellis, their cat, Dimitri, and their home in Warren. |
